2018 Ford Escape

The 2018 Ford Escape comes in four trim levels, which are S, SE, SEL, and Titanium. On the outside, the S trim comes equipped with 17-inch steel wheels and automatic headlights. The SE includes sound-reducing window glass, chrome exterior trim elements, a keyless entry pad, fog lights, roof rails, and rear privacy glass. Choose the SEL trim to get a power-operated lift gate and available 18-inch wheels. With the top Titanium trim level comes 18-inch wheels, a hands-free lift gate, Xenon headlights, and keyless entry and ignition. Additional options on the lower trim levels include LED daytime running lights, black exterior trim, and automatic wipers. Fog lights come standard on all trims except S.

The base engine in the 2018 Escape is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder, rating at 170 pound-feet of torque and 168 horsepower. With the SE trim, you'll get a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which pumps out 177 pound-feet of torque and 179 horsepower. At the top of the trim levels is the Titanium, which comes equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This unit produces 275 pound-feet of torque and 245 horsepower. All three engines pair with a six-speed automatic transmission.

All models of the 2018 Ford Escape come with front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is available as an option on the SE, SEL, and Titanium trim levels. With the base engine, the EPA fuel economy estimates are 21 mpg in the city, 29 mpg on the highway, and 24 mpg combined. With the 1.5-liter engine, the estimates go up to 23 mpg city, 30 mpg highway, and 26 mpg combined. If you opt for the Titanium trim level, the estimated fuel economy is 21 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined.

Interior features of the base trim level include a height-adjustable driver's seat, a 4.2-inch central display screen, Ford's Sync tech interface with smartphone integration, a six-speaker audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port, and a 60/40-split folding rear seat. The SE adds dual-zone automatic climate control, paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel, an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat, upgraded cloth upholstery, satellite radio, and heated front seats. With the SEL trim, you'll get Ford's upgraded Sync 3 interface, a leather-wrapped shift knob and steering wheel, and leather upholstery. Choose the top Titanium trim for ambient interior lighting, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a household-style power outlet, a premium 10-speaker audio system with HD radio, and navigation.

Across the board, all Ford Edge models come equipped with a rearview camera, anti-lock brakes, traction and stability control, and air bags throughout the seating area. The optional Safe and Smart package adds lane departure intervention, forward collision warning with mitigation, automatic high beams, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic wipers.
